Toledo, an imperial city and cradle of handicrafts in Spain, is famous worldwide for its most popular craft, “Damascene”. The master artisans here are capable of creating authentic works of art with their hands, as can only be found in Toledo.

25 cm damascene plate in 24-carat gold, chased entirely by hand by our master artisans.

The composition consists of 12 open windows in a circle, with another window in the centre of the plate. In each window, a saint is depicted, hand-painted on canvas. In the centre, Christ Pantocrator is portrayed. The spaces between each window are finely decorated with gold thread to further emphasise the paintings of the saints.

The central circle is composed of two 8-point stars, inside of which are elegant volutes tastefully executed in gold thread. A Swarovski crystal has been placed in four of the eight points of the star to indicate the four cardinal points.

This is a handcrafted masterpiece combining two art forms: damascene and painting. Through this combination of art forms, the piece acquires a beauty that is incomparable in this traditional craft.
